MUDr. Marie Štefková, CSc.

MUDr. Marie Štefková, CSc., graduated in 1965 from stomatology at the Faculty of Medicine at the Palacky University in Olomouc and since she has worked there at the Department of Stomatology. In 1970, after Prof. Kamínek returned from his studies in Denmark, she started working at the orthodontic ward and participated in fixed apparatus implementing into medical practice and in teaching and training. She finished her postgraduate study and defended her thesis on lingual arch topic. Marie Štefková is a co-author of two university textbooks and of the present Ortodoncie textbook, regularly gave lectures at the congresses both in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Together with Prof Kamínek they ran courses in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia from 1990. Since 1992 she has given lectures also in Poland and due to them was appointed an honorary member of the Polish Orthodontic Society. For three electoral terms she worked in the Czech orthodontic Society (ČOS) as an auditing commission chairperson, and is a member of the Ortodoncie journal editorial.

In the last few years she has been responsible for regular introductory practical course for the doctor specialists in orthodontics, stomatology assistants and technicians.
