Dear Colleagues, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Let me cordially invite you to attend the 22nd Congress of the Czech Orthodontic Society which after thirty years will once again take place in the Moravia-Silesian region in the city of Ostrava. In the past the city was called “The Steel Heart of The Country”. The congress will take place from 6th to 9th 10. 2022 in the Clarion Congress Hotel of Ostrava.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemics it was not possible to hold the congress in the years 2020 and 2021, but now I am convinced that in 2022 it will be possible for us to meet in person as usual.

In Ostrava, the hometown of Dr. Bedřich Neumann who is a prominent person in Czech orthodontics, we will have the privilege to welcome and host well known world and domestic speakers who will enrich the program with their interesting and highly educational lectures.

The main theme of the congress will be Class III malocclusion, aligners and interdisciplinary collaboration.

During the pre-congress course prof. Huge de Clerk will introduce the latest findings from his years-long research in usage of skeletal anchorage for patients in their growth period.

Another important lecturer prof. René Foltán, who ranks among top specialists for jaw and facial surgery, will give a presentation on current trends in orthognathic treatment. Orthodontics is evolving day by day and treatment by clear aligners seems to be at the forefront of newest trends in this field. Dr. Manuel Román Jimenéz will present his knowledge and experience with treatments using clear aligners.

The 3rd day of the congress will be focused on interdisciplinary treatment and will be intended for general dentists as well as doctors from other specializations. The topic of interdisciplinary treatment will be presented by Dr. Ewa Czochrowska, Dr. Ivo Marek, Dr. Paweł Plakwicz, Dr. Roman Kufa, MUDr. Jiří Krug, Dr. Jan Streblov and others.

Apart from the scientific program for orthodontists and dentists, we are also preparing separate sessions for orthodontic assistants, dental hygienists and dental technicians focusing on digital orthodontics in the 21st century.

Of course, we didn’t forget about setting up our traditional evening social programs, full of surprises and fun, which will be hosted in attractive parts of the city of Ostrava like Dolní Oblast Vítkovice and the Garage Club.

I am looking forward to seeing you in Ostrava.
