Abstract of the lecture:

The author proposes a new approach to treat growing patients with Invisalign technique. The orthodontic treatment in the age of growth (from 8 years to 13 years) is usually performed in two phases. First phase in early age, aimed at guiding the growth ("functional therapy") and second phase to align the teeth. Invisalign with aligners and your auxiliaries, it can be considered a device "biomorphofunctional", with proprioceptive stimulation, and can be used in disorders of structural and functional maxillary and mandibular deficiency.
Biology and function contribute to create its architecture correctly, both in normal conditions of development that in therapeutic phases of morphofunctional recovery.
The search of stomatognathic harmony corresponds to the search of the aetiology and genesis of any functional and morphological alterations of the stomatognathic system (occlusal interference). It is up to the orthodontist seek, as soon as possible, and if necessary, even from birth, the causes of these changes, eliminate them and, if possible, to rehabilitate the organ, or lessen the severity of alterations. Identifying such interference, using Occlusogram function in OrthoCad software and contact point function in ClinCheck, and eliminating or otherwise cancelling their effect, due to a comparation between the two dental arches, it means giving the opportunity to the masticatory system to create a new neuro-muscular engram.
Invisalign technique with aligners is able to produce a new neuro muscular engram, leaving the freedom to TMJ. Using Functional-Invisalign technique, aligners with elastics (using precision cut and attachments) or with Precision Wings (following Mandibular Advancement protocol) the orthodontists can correct sagittal malocclusions.
Aligners with bite ramps and attachments (occlusal anterior and posterior attachments, extrusion or intrusion optimized attachments): the orthodontists can correct vertical malocclusions. Only to identifying occlusal interference in many cases of growing patients, what are the advantages of this new approach? To produce a new neuro muscular engram, to leave the freedom to TMJ, to ensure harmonious growth, to reduce the percentage of extractions, to reduce the total timing of treatments, to give long-term stability.
