Tommaso Castroflorio

Dr. Castroflorio obtained his DDS Degree from the University of Torino, Italy, in 1998; In 2001 he was certified as a Specialist in Orthodontics summa cum laude from the same University. In 2007 he obtained his PhD in Human Morphology from the University of Milan, Italy. In 2008 he completed a postgraduate course in Headache and Craniofacial Neuralgia at the University of Torino, Italy and in 2009 he completed a postgraduate course in Orofacial Pain at the University of New Jersey, USA.

From 2002 to 2007 he was lecturer at the School of Orthodontics of the University of Torino, Italy. Between 2007 and 2011 he was a lecturer of the postgraduate course in Interceptive Orthodontics at the Danube University, Krems, Austria. Since 2012 he is a clinical instructor and lecturer at the School of Orthodontics of the University of Torino, Italy. Since 2014 he is an aggregate Professor of the Chair of Orthodontics and of the Specialization School of Orthodontics of the Dental School of the University of Torino, Torino, Italy and he is involved in international research projects with universities in Canada, Spain and US focused on aligner orthodontics. He is author or co-author of more than 100 publications on peer-review journals, national dental journals and of chapters of books.

In 2002 he was awarded from the Italian Society of Orthodontics. In 2003, 2004 and 2012 he was awarded from the Italian College of Teachers in Dentistry. In 2014, 2016 and 2018 he was the recipient of the international Align Research Award. Since 1999 he has lectured in Italy, Europe, USA, Middle East and Asia.

He serves as reviewer for the most important dental journals in the field of Orthodontics and Oral Physiology. He is member of the Italian Society of Orthodontics (SIDO), European Orthodontic Society (EOS), fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), International member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). He is a founding member and board member of the European Aligner Society His private practice is located in Torino, Italy.
