MUDr. René Foltán, Ph.D.

Keynote Lecture - Friday, September 21, 2012

The decoupage technique is widely used as a recreational art activity. Materials such as paper, glass, ceramics and plastics are embellished with the help of a colorful printed napkin. What does this have to do with orthodontics? – Quite a lot, because a small piece of brightly printed napkins used in manufacturing of orthodontic appliances shows amazing result. But also other techniques, like the perfect little picture or inserting handwritten names, phone numbers and addresses of patients to the new Black & White technique achieves a great effect. With these techniques, the inventiveness of the orthodontic technician knows no boundaries. Another step that should help to facilitate the children’s acceptance of braces.
