THE SURGICAL CONSIDERATION OF AUTOTRANSPLANTATION OF DEVELOPING TEETH

The lecture will provide information about planning and performing autotransplantation of developing teeth from the perspective of an oral surgeon. A detailed description of the surgical protocol and clinical tips for a successful surgery procedure, including factors, which in? uence the treatment outcome will be given. The aspect of bone preservation and regeneration is an important issue in tooth transplantation and will be presented using clinical examples. It will be demonstrated, that developing teeth may in some cases serve as an natural providers of bone growth and help in regeneration of alveolus in patients with bone defects. The problem of the ectopically positioned immature teeth, especially second premolars and canines will be discussed regarding the trans-alveolar transplantation of such teeth. The lecture will also underline the importance and elements of detailed follow-up. Finally, it will describe the most often found healing complication and its possible solutions.
